Summary The Teacher of English as a New Language (ENL) is responsible for providing high-quality, culturally responsive instruction to Multilingual Learners (MLLs) in accordance with New York State Education Department (NYSED) regulations and district expectations. The ENL teacher supports students’ English language development while promoting access to grade-level curriculum through collaboration, co-teaching, and targeted language instruction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Instruction & Student Support - Provide direct ENL instruction aligned with NYS Next Generation Learning Standards and NYSED Part 154 requirements.
- Deliver instruction using research-based strategies that support language acquisition across listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the linguistic, academic, and cultural needs of Multilingual Learners.
