Job Description

Position Summary

The Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) teacher provides specially designed instruction within the general education classroom to support students with disabilities in accessing grade-level curriculum. Partnering closely with the general education teacher, the ICT teacher co-plans, co-instructs, and co-assesses to deliver differentiated, inclusive, and standards-aligned learning experiences. This role includes monitoring IEP goals, implementing accommodations and modifications, using data to guide instruction, and fostering a supportive, collaborative classroom environment that meets the academic and social-emotional needs of all learners at the middle school level.

Performance Responsibilities

The Teacher shall:

Instruction & Curriculum

  • Plan and deliver standards-based instruction aligned with district curriculum
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies to actively engage students
  • Integrate technology and instructional resources effectively

Assessment & Data

  • Design and implement formative and summative assessments
  • Analyze student data to inform instruction and improve outcomes
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and families

Classroom Environment

  • Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom climate
  • Promote positive student behavior and social-emotional growth
  • Implement district-approved behavior and safety procedures

Collaboration & Communication

  • Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), grade-level, or department meetings
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
  • Collaborate with support staff, specialists, and administrators

Professional Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records as required by district and state guidelines
  • Participate in professional development activities
  • Comply with district policies, procedures, and contractual obligations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by administration

Terms of Employment

  • Salary, teaching schedule, and benefits in accordance with the EITA contract
  • Appointment subject to Board of Education approval

Evaluation

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with district procedures, New York State regulations, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid New York State Teaching Certification in special education grades 1-6.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and support staff
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and continuous professional growth
