Position Summary

Eastridge High School is seeking a dynamic, student-centered New York State Certified English Teacher to join our dedicated faculty. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in English 9 and AVID 10, preparing students for the NYS Regents Examination while fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for literature.  Responsibilities include designing rigorous, hands-on lessons aligned to the NYS Learning Standards for Science, incorporating writing, inquiry, collaboration, reading, and differentiating instruction to meet diverse learners’ needs. The ideal candidate builds strong relationships with students, maintains high academic expectations, collaborates effectively within Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and contributes positively to a safe, supportive school culture.  Candidates must hold appropriate NYS certification in English (7–12).   • Promote positive student behavior and social-emotional growth
  • Implement district-approved behavior and safety procedures

Collaboration & Communication

  • Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and department meetings
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
  • Collaborate with support staff, specialists, and administrators

Professional Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records as required by district and state guidelines
  • Participate in professional development activities
  • Comply with district policies, procedures, and contractual obligations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by administration

Evaluation

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with district procedures, New York State regulations, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.

Terms of Employment

  • Salary, teaching schedule, and benefits in accordance with the EITA contract
  • Appointment subject to Board of Education approval

There is an immediate opening for a Registered School Nurse at Eastridge High School.  This is a 10-month, 7-hour per day position working Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 2:30 PM, following the student calendar.

$28.75 / Hour Minimum Starting
School Nutrition - Head Cook 2025/26School Nutrition - Head Cook 2025/26

There is a fall 2026 opening for a Head Cook in the School Nutrition Department at Eastridge High School.  This position follows the student calendar.  Work hours are Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 1:30 PM.

Responsibilities are but not limited to the following:

  1. Manages employees who assist in preparing, portioning, and serving meals according to menu and special diets and in quantities sufficient for the persons served
  2. Prepares and cooks entrees
  3. Manages and participates in the preparation, seasoning and cooking of soups, broths, sauces, gravies, vegetables, salads, dressings, desserts, and other foodstuffs for consumption in a school, institutional cafeteria, or hospital room
  4. Assists with planning and preparing menus
  5. Slices and portions meat for cooking and serving
  6. Manages and participates in cleaning of kitchen utensils, equipment, and inspection of work area for cleanliness and functional operation
  7. Supervises and participates in preserving, storing, and preparing left-over food
  8. Operates and cares for kitchen equipment requiring attention to safety such as steam kettles and slicers
  9. Serves food from steam tables to students, and faculty

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in Living Environment/Biology, preparing students for the NYS Regents Examination while fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for scientific inquiry.  Responsibilities include designing rigorous, hands-on lessons aligned to the NYS Learning Standards for Science, incorporating laboratory investigations, analyzing data, and differentiating instruction to meet diverse learners’ needs. The ideal candidate builds strong relationships with students, maintains high academic expectations, collaborates effectively within Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and contributes positively to a safe, supportive school culture.  Candidates must hold appropriate NYS certification in Biology (7–12). Job Description

Teacher of English as a New Language (ENL)

Position Title: Teacher of English as a New Language (ENL)

Reports To: Building Principal and/or Director of Multilingual Learners
Bargaining Unit: East Irondequoit Teachers’ Association (EITA)
Location: Assigned School(s), East Irondequoit Central School District
Pay: In Accordance with EITA contract and experience.

 

Summary

The Teacher of English as a New Language (ENL) is responsible for providing high-quality, culturally responsive instruction to Multilingual Learners (MLLs) in accordance with New York State Education Department (NYSED) regulations and district expectations. The ENL teacher supports students’ English language development while promoting access to grade-level curriculum through collaboration, co-teaching, and targeted language instruction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Instruction & Student Support

  • Provide direct ENL instruction aligned with NYS Next Generation Learning Standards and NYSED Part 154 requirements.
  • Deliver instruction using research-based strategies that support language acquisition across listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the linguistic, academic, and cultural needs of Multilingual Learners.
  • Support students in developing academic language proficiency across content areas.

Program Implementation & Compliance

  • Implement ENL service models (e.g., standalone, integrated co-teaching, push-in/pull-out) as required by student profiles and district programming.
  • Maintain accurate records related to identification, placement, progress monitoring, and exit criteria for ENL students.
  • Participate in required language proficiency assessments and assist with data analysis to inform instruction.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, counselors, and administrators to support student success.
  • Co-plan and co-teach with classroom teachers to ensure meaningful access to grade-level content.
  • Communicate effectively with families, including supporting language access as appropriate.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Participate in professional learning related to multilingual education, culturally responsive practices, and district initiatives.
  • Maintain current knowledge of NYSED regulations, instructional best practices, and assessment requirements for Multilingual Learners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or District Administration.
