Job summary:

The East Irondequoit Central School District is seeking a compassionate & skilled RN or LPN to provide 1:1 nursing care for a student with complex medical needs in a classroom setting. The nurse is responsible for administering all prescribed treatments and medications, including tube feedings for nutrition and medication delivery, monitoring the student’s health status, and ensuring a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.  The nurse will need to collaborate closely with the educational team, parents, and health care providers to support the student’s health, comfort, and educational participation.

All care is provided in accordance with the district policies, established medical and nursing protocols and under the guidance of the district medical director. The nurse must maintain professional standards of practice, adhere to confidentiality requirements, and provide accurate documentation while supporting the student’s health and educational needs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to the assigned student throughout the school day
  • Implement and follow the student’s Individualized Health Plan (IHP) and Individualized Educational Plan (IEP)
  • Administer tube feedings for nutrition and medications as prescribed and on schedule
  • Maintain accurate and confidential health records and daily documentation
  • Communicate regularly with parents, healthcare providers, and school staff
  • Assist with personal care needs (e.g. toileting) as required
  • Promote a safe and supportive environment with classroom staff
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to care planning and updates.
LPN $19.35 / Hour Min. or RN $28.75 / Hour Min.
