There is an immediate opening for a Grounds Equipment Operator in the Buildings and Grounds department. This position is 12-months, working 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities are but not limited to the following: 

  • Cleans restrooms and related support facilities;
  • Mows lawns and trims and edges around walks, flowerbeds, walls, fences, hedges, trees and shrubs;
  • Prunes trees and shrubs;
  • Plants, waters, fertilizes and weeds grass, flowers, trees and shrubs;
  • Rakes leaves, picks up brush and litter;
  • Plows or shovels snow and spreads salt on walkways, steps, driveways, or crossings,
  • Repairs and paints fences, gates, walks, walls, tables, and benches,;
  • Installs playground and athletic equipment;
  • Cleans out gutters, drainage ditches, culverts, and catch basins;
  • Operates manual, power tools and equipment;
  • Operates light trucks to deliver supplies and cart debris, loads and unloads trucks;
  • Other related activities may be performed although not listed
$16.75 / Hour Minimum Starting
B&G - Laborer 2025/26B&G - Laborer 2025/26

There is an immediate opening for Laborer in the Buildings and Grounds Department.  This position is 12-months, working 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities are but not limited to the following:

  • Assists with installation, maintenance, repair, and cleaning 
  • Assists in construction, patching of sidewalks & parking lots 
  • Snow removal 
  • Landscaping 
  • Performs general building cleaning & repairs 
$16.50 / Hour Minimum Starting
B&G - B Shift Maintenance Mechanic I 2025/26B&G - B Shift Maintenance Mechanic I 2025/26

The East Irondequoit Central School District has an immediate opening for a B Shift Maintenance Mechanic I in the Buildings and Grounds Department. This position is 12-months, Monday - Friday, working 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM (B Shift Differential of $.75 is applicable) with a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch.

Job responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

  • Performs a wide variety of tasks of ordinary difficulty relating to the electrical, mechanical, or construction trades.
  • Installs, maintains, repairs, replaces, and rebuilds plumbing equipment and systems including, but not limited to, faucets, toilet fixtures, and drinking fountains. 
  • Installs and performs repairs of carpets, floors, ceilings, insulating materials, roofs, gutter systems, weather stripping, paneling, shelves, doors, windows and other parts of buildings.
  • Makes, assembles, installs, repairs, maintains, rebuilds, and refinishes furniture, floors, doors, walls, cabinets, stairs, and other wood products, equipment and structures.
  • Oils and greases equipment such as cranes, air compressors, and air hoists and performs necessary repair work.
  • Operates automobiles, trucks, air compressors, riding/push lawnmowers, snowplows, and other motorized equipment.
  • Perform grounds maintenance work such as fence repair, sign fabrication and repair, equipment (including athletic) repair, lawn cutting and maintenance (such as trimming, planting, weeding) and ice and snow treatment and removal.

 

$16.75 / Hour Minimum Starting
