There is an opening for Director of Technology Operations in the East Irondequoit Central School District. 

This position is 12-months working Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.  

Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

  • Engage administrators, teachers, and appropriate staff to ensure the effective and appropriate use of technology throughout the District 

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational support for district initiatives 

  • Ensure that training documentation and resources for all district-used hardware and software are current, accessible, and relevant 

  • Plan for, upgrade, and maintain district network infrastructure and equipment to meet instructional, operational, and administrative objectives 

  • Develop and administer the Information Technology Department budget, including all technology-related resources and services contracted through BOCES, aligned with district goals and priorities 

  • Act as the Districts’ Data Privacy Officer and manage the District’s program of data security, including compliance with Education Law 2-d 

  • Ensure the District applies for and receives all eligible E-rate funding 

  • Oversee and maintain accurate inventory records of all district technology assets 

  • Review and manage maintenance and service contracts to ensure mission-critical infrastructure, hardware, and software have appropriate service-level agreements to minimize downtime 

  • Ensure continuous availability and functionality of the district emergency communication system  

  • Manage district telephone systems, voicemail systems, overhead paging systems, lockdown systems, and all audio/visual systems in schools, auditoriums, and cafetoriums 

  • Provide oversight and support for all major enterprise systems, including the Student Management System, Finance System, Learning Management System, and other department-specific systems 

  • Consult with instructional staff, vendors, and distributors regarding technology solutions that enhance teaching and learning 

  • Attend and actively participate in meetings hosted by the BOCES Regional Information Center and BOCES Educational Communications Center for collaboration and information sharing

  • Research, analyze, and remain current on emerging technologies and best practices related to educational technology 

  • Develop and manage strategies for the acquisition, deployment, installation, and upgrading of computer hardware and software 

  • Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and communication of a standardized district hardware and software platform and long-term technology strategy 

  • Ensure the District maintains a viable and tested business continuity and disaster recovery plan and incident response plan that are updated and reviewed on a regular basis 

  • Assign, supervise, and direct personnel engaged in special technical projects and ongoing technology operations 

  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools 

Additional Attributes Preferred: 

  • Thorough knowledge of software and hardware capabilities and limitations as they relate to instructional and administrative needs in a school district 

  • Ability to assess district and user needs and recommend appropriate technology solutions 

  • Ability to coordinate and conduct training for staff and administrators 

  • Ability to conduct research and remain current on trends in educational technology 

  • Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and concise reports, budget documents, and correspondence

Systems Administrator 2025/26Systems Administrator 2025/26

There is an opening for Systems Administrator in the East Irondequoit Central School District.  This is a 12-month position working Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

Identity & Access Management:

  • Manage user accounts and access to non-rostered software applications.
  • Ensures new user accounts are created with least privilege access for the network and major applications.
  • Reviews/audits personnel reports in order to update access privileges or deactivate accounts for staff/students that are no longer required.
  • Ensures tickets are assigned to tech’s for deploying devices and MFA.
  • Perform routine audits of user accounts and access in AD, Azure AD, Sharepoint, Teams.
  • Assist with complex MFA issues as needed.

Application and Data Integration:

  • Assist in collection and review of computer system data as needed.
  • Assist in planning and implementing software applications.
  • Assists with research and implementation of new software solutions as needed.
  • Ensure users have access to software applications and network resources.
  • Works with various departments to understand requirements in order to develop and implement the most effective systems solutions.
  • Assists in API integrations for applications as needed.

Security Controls and Risk Mitigation:

  • Produce audit reports as requested by Principals or Administrators.
  • Assists in the development of information security procedures as needed.
  • Participates in vendor meetings regarding Microsoft Information Protection policies.
  • Assist in reviewing Microsoft Data Loss Prevention alerts.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities include:

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft products including AD and Azure AD (Entra).
  • Good knowledge of the process for performing routine audits on user accounts/access.
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software applications issues as needed.
  • Ability to analyze AD/Azure logs to identify issues.
  • Ability to test user account access to software platforms.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Analytical thinking.
  • Good organizational skills a must.
$80,000.00 - $85,000.00 / Year
