There are immediate openings for Food Service Helpers in the School Nutrition Department for the 2025/26 school year.


Ivan Green - 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM (5.5 Hrs.)

Helendale - 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM (4.5 Hrs.)

DUTIES ARE BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  1. Serves as cashier on student food service line.
  2. Set up prep area/serving line/cash register for menu items and ease of service.
  3. Prepare foods and ingredients properly, efficiently, and courteously.
  4. Serve food from steam table of food line in cafeteria-style operation.
  5. Maintain a clean and orderly workstation.
  6. Wash and sanitize all pots, pans, and utensils.
  7. Assist with cleanup of equipment, serving areas, and work areas.
  8. Count/store/return leftover foods properly following all food safety guidelines.
  9. Assist Cook Manager or Food Service Director with additional tasks as needed.

 

$16.00 / Hour Minimum Starting
School Nutrition Cook Manager 2025/26School Nutrition Cook Manager 2025/26

There is an opening for a Cook Manager in the School Nutrition Department at Helemdale Road Primary School.  This position is 7 hours per day, working from 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM Monday - Friday.  Cook Managers report the last week of August.

Responsibilities are, but not limited to, the following:

  1. Responsible for proper receiving and storage of food and supplies.
  2. Works with the Food Service Director to prepare weekly food orders for their specific School.
  3. Prepare/transfer foods and other items
  4. Set up prep area/serving line/cash register for menu items and ease of service; stock shelves/freezers/coolers/service areas.
  5. Serve/prepare foods properly or operate cash register efficiently and courteously.
  6. Maintain clean and orderly workstation; count/store/return leftover foods.
  7. Assist with cleanup of equipment, dishes, pots/pans and work areas.
  8. Complete paperwork, recordkeeping or inventory tasks as required.
  9. Assist food service director and other staff as requested.
  10. Attend management meetings; participate in professional development.
$17.00 / Hour Minimum Starting
Food Service Helper Substitutes 2025/26Food Service Helper Substitutes 2025/26

There are positions available for Food Service Helper Substitutes in the East Irondequoit Central School District.  These positions follow the student calendar.  Applicants selected for an interview will be notified by telephone.

FOOD SERVICE HELPER -  TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES

$15.50 / Hour Minimum Starting
