Job Description

Job Summary:

Bishop Kearney High School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Counselor to work in our newly created Student Wellness Center. The counselor will be available for three hours per week during the school year to assist in supporting student mental health and well-being. This position will also allow the full-time counselors to collaborate, plan, and ensure that our students always have access to professional support throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling services to students as needed.
• Collaborate with full-time counseling staff to address student needs and provide continuity of care.
• Serve as a point of contact for students visiting the Wellness Center during assigned hours.
• Participate in case consultations, meetings, and professional development as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate records in line with school policies and professional standards.
• Support the overall mission and goals of Bishop Kearney High School’s Student Wellness Center.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
• Current licensure or certification to practice counseling in the state of New York.
• Experience working with adolescents in a school or clinical setting is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.

Hours:

• 3 hours per week for 40 weeks (when school is in session).
