High School Diploma or Equivalent
Civil Service title of School Secretary or Office Clerk III or eligible for School Secretary or Office Clerk III.
School Secretary:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and EITHER: (A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's degree in Secretarial Science, plus one (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent office clerical or secretarial experience; OR, (B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's degree plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent office clerical or secretarial experience; OR, (C) Three (3) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as defined in (A) and (B) above; OR, (D) Any equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C) above.
Office Clerk III:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER: (A) (B) (C) Successful completion of at least thirty (30) credit hours from a college or university; OR, One (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent office clerical or secretarial experience*; OR, An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
