Job Description

The Human Resources Department in the East Irondequoit School District has an opening an administrative clerical support position. This is a 12 month, 8 hour per day, managerial confidential position. Job responsibilities include the following:

  • Composes and prepares routine correspondence and reports dealing with well-defined administrative activities;
  • Compiles data for inclusion in tentative budget estimates for departmental reports, etc., under administrator's direction;
  • Compiles and prepares data and information for collective bargaining negotiations
  • Reads and routes supervisor's mail -- handling items/inquiries when possible and referring those items that can be delegated;
  • Locates and attaches appropriate information to correspondence to be answered by employer;
  • Proofreads typewritten materials for sense, and consistency as well as for spelling, grammar and punctuation;
  • Schedules conferences, meetings and interviews insuring all parties are contacted and any scheduling conflicts resolved;
  • Makes necessary travel arrangements securing tickets when appropriate;
  • Maintains and establishes confidential files and general office files;
  • Acts as receptionist for administrator, greeting visitors and scheduling appointments;
  • Orders supplies and materials for use of section;
  • Schedules use of district facilities;
  • Checks, codes and processes requisitions, claim vouchers, bills;
  • Operates standard office equipment;
  • Maintain electronic employee records and personnel files
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

 

Civil Service Title
Clerk 1 or Secretary 2 (or eligible for title)
Job Qualifications

Civil Service title of Secretary II or Clerk 1 or eligible for the title

3-5 years office secretarial experience or office management (experience working in a school office or District office preferred)

Experience with WinCap, MS Excel and NYSED reporting requirements preferred.

Alternative to the above which the district may find appropriate, acceptable and equivalent
